Galaxy Z Fold 7 September 2025 Update is LIVE

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is receiving its first major software update. This September security patch brings more than just the latest security fixes—it also includes a couple of new features to enhance your foldable experience, specifically within the Now Bar and Samsung DeX.

Here's the full change log for the Galaxy Z Fold 7's September update:

  • Check stock prices without unlocking

Stocks you follow on Google Finance with big price changes will appear on your Now Bar at the end of the trading day.

  • Do more in DeX on connected displays

You can now add widgets to your Home screen when using DeX on a connected display as well as control settings for the mouse and on-screen keyboard.

  • Security

The device is protected with improved security.

These changes may vary depending on the model, country, or network operator of the customer environment. To get the best from your device, please keep your device up to date and regularly check for software updates.

More Changes..

As usual, there are a couple more changes that Samsung has snuck that they left off the changelog. Staying within DeX, you’ll notice a true fullscreen button at the top right of each window. This allows apps to not just maximize, but go fully fullscreen.

Within DeX settings, there’s a new option to disable your cursor flowing from your external screen to your phone. In certain scenarios, this might be a really nice feature - essentially making you Z Fold act as a second monitor, but I’ve found that for my use, it’s mostly just annoying as my cursor accidentally moves to the wrong screen. I’ve also discovered that the experience of a blank black wallpaper appearing for a split second when opening the phone seems to be fully mitigated. Another minor annoyance addressed!
