Oppo Find N5/OnePlus Open 2 Appears Incredibly Thin in New Photos
Much like the Galaxy S25 series of phones, the rumor mill for the Oppo Find N5/OnePlus Open 2 has gone from trickle to raging river quite rapidly. Just the other day we saw a post on Weibo from Senior VP of Oppo Zhou Yibao that showed the Find N5’s thickness compared to a stack of 5 ID cards. From this post, it seemed like Yibao’s earlier claim that the Find N5 would be the world’s thinnest foldable might actually be true.
Sadly, in his demonstration the Find N5 remained obscured by a piece of paper. If that bummed you out and you wanted to see more about how thin this thing is next to a normal slab phone… I have great news for you! We have a post once again emanating from Weibo. This time from user @挪威的森林Rain, where we see someone just straight up holding the phone next to the Oppo X8. As you look at this image, keep in mind that the X8 is 7.9mm.
You may notice that in their post, there a three photos. If you pay close enough attention though, only one of them is the Open 2. The others are the Open or Find N3. It’s likely they are not the original source of these images, but it’s as far back as I’ve been able to go.
Looking down at the hinge, you can tell that the Find N5 is certainly thicker, but it’s really not by much. The predictions have this device somewhere around 9.2mm when closed and I think that’s totally possible looking at these images. Considering the rest of the specs along with how great this device is looking, and I think we have a clear contender for Foldable of the year already. Keep in mind, Yibao indicated this device would be launching in February.
