Pixel 10 Renders Leak Revealing Confusing Change
In keeping with tradition, renders for the upcoming Pixel 10 series of devices have no officially leaked and while they might not seem all that exciting at first glance, there’s at least one big change worth noting. All of these renders come courtesy of Android Headlines via tech tipster OnLeaks.
Pixel 10
Starting with the base model Pixel 10, we see a device that looks quite similar to last year’s model. It retains the flat side rails and the camera bump/island that no longer connects to the edge of the device. In terms of dimensions, everything is staying very similar to the Pixel 9 as well.

The big change here is that the camera island now includes the periscope telephoto previously reserved for the Pro models. Upon seeing this, some in the tech community thought this could be a rather large mistake as it makes little sense to include this camera on the non-Pro model when it is basically the only thing that differentiates it from said Pro model.
Since many of you are asking... Yes, as shown on the highly detailed renders made by my man @iDesigner3D, the base #Google #Pixel10 comes with a triple rear camera setup which includes a Telephoto/Periscope... pic.twitter.com/dTGwoLritZ

Why Buy the Pro?
Despite that, OnLeaks has confirmed that this was not a mistake and the base model 10 does indeed have a triple camera setup leaving a huge question; why would anyone spend $200 more for the Pro Model? For a thermometer?
For one thing, the Pro model has had 16GB of RAM vs the standards 12GB. In day-today use, that doesn’t really amount to much, but it’s something.. The Pro model has also had slightly brighter screens, although the 9 was doing just fine with 2700nits of peak brightness.
One possibility is that the Zoom sensor we’re getting just isn’t as good as the one in the Pro models. It could be a lower optical number like 3x or it could be the 5x from the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which is fine, but not nearly as good as the one in other Pro phones.
I’ve also seen light and unsubstantiated rumors that the Pro models might be getting a new primary sensor as well with the base model sticking with the same Samsung GNK sensor they’ve been using. I suppose that if the Pro model indeed has more RAM, a brighter screen, a better primary camera and still better zoom you might just be able to justify it existing?
I also wonder if Google would be so cruel as to use the 12GB of RAM used on the base model to restrict Pixel Sense to the Pro models alone…
Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL
Both Pro models look nearly identical to last year with the same triple camera setup appearing on the back of the devices. Dimensions are said to be more or less the same for both as well.

What Else is New?
There have been at least a few other rumors about the Pixel 10 series that give us a decent picture of what to be expecting. Of course we’ve got the new Tensor G5, which will be made by TSMC rather that Samsung Foundry. Here’s a rundown of what Android Authority reported months back.
1x Cortex-X4 (3.4GHz)
5x Cortex-A725 (2.86GHz)
2x Cortex-A520 (2.25GHz)
ARM v9.2
Samsung S5400 Modem
GPU: PowerVR D-Series DXT-48-1536, clocked at 1.1GHz with Integrated Virtualization + Ray Tracing and FSR support
TPU: Improved version of EdgeTPU (18 / 9 TOPS), around 10-15% faster
Building on previous reports from October, the expected upgrades appear incremental. The new chip features a slightly faster Prime core, newer Performance cores, and a revised core layout (5 performance, 2 efficiency). Minor clock speed increases across the board suggest potential thermal improvements. Notably, the modem remains unchanged, which isn't a significant drawback given the Pixel 9's modem-driven battery life gains. The chip's use of TSMC's N3E node, also used by Apple's A18, is a significant advancement. While the Tensor G5 is physically larger than Apple's A18 Pro, the impact on actual performance remains to be seen.
Faster Charging?
There have also been some rumors posted to the MysticLeaks Telegram channel that added some new details, just be prepared to take them with a pinch of salt until they’re confirmed by a better known leaker. According to this leak, the Pixel 10 will maintain 12GB of RAM and increase screen brightness to 2,000/3,000 nits peak. A potential new CPS4041 chip suggests the possibility of 60W wireless charging and 20W reverse wireless charging. Other reported upgrades include 8K30 video recording, 4K60 external display support, and the continued use of the same ultrasonic fingerprint scanner from last year.
