UPDATE: Google has sent invites for the Pixel 11 event which will take place August 12th in New York.

A massive new leak detailed on 9to5Google breaks down the upcoming Google Pixel 11 series prices, storage changes and release dates.

The most significant shift this year is that Google is completely dropping the 128GB storage model. This looks like a forced upgrade for consumers. Instead of getting the 256GB tier at the old 128GB price, the cheaper entry point is simply gone. For context, the Pixel 10 base model launched at £799, but now the entry point jumps straight to the 256GB version at £879.

Looking closer at the data, the pricing story changes depending on where you live. While euro pricing is holding steady year-over-year for the 256GB tier, UK buyers are actually seeing a small drop of 20 pounds on some of the smaller models.

The Price Hikes Hit the Pro XL and Fold

Things take a sharp upward turn when you look at the larger premium devices. The Pixel 11 Pro XL is seeing a €100 price increase and an £80 increase. That upward trajectory continues directly into the foldable category, where the base configurations are already locked into 256GB of storage, meaning you do not get any extra space to justify the hike.

If we look back at a post from May 4th discussing details from Mystic Leaks, the hardware changes make these price increases even tougher to swallow. The upcoming Pixel 11 Pro Fold is rumored to drop down to 12GB of RAM, which is a noticeable step down from the 16GB of RAM found inside the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Owners will be paying more money for less memory, which is a tough sell for foldable enthusiasts.

Based on historical trends, we can map out what this likely means for US pricing. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold will probably land at $1899 in the United States. That represents a $100 price hike for a phone with less RAM.

This creates a fascinating competitive landscape for 2026 foldables. The base Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 might sit around $1799, while the Moto Razr Fold is positioned at $1899. Motorola gives you 512GB of storage and 16GB of RAM for that price, making the Google and Samsung offerings look a bit lean by comparison since they both stick to a 256GB baseline.

Why Everything Is Getting So Expensive

The industry is right in the middle of a massive component price surge, often called Ramageddon. RAM and storage costs are skyrocketing globally. Motorola likely wanted to price their foldable much lower to be highly aggressive, but market forces made that impossible. They realized Google and Samsung would have to raise prices too, which keeps the Moto Razr competitive even at a higher bracket.

Tech companies are determined to protect their profit margins. When manufacturing costs go up, they do not absorb the difference, they pass it directly to the consumers to keep shareholders happy. It is disappointing for buyers, but the full picture of the premium smartphone market is finally becoming clear.
