S25 Slim?

This rumored device is generating a ton of buzz, and for good reason. Imagine a flagship phone that's incredibly thin, potentially around 6.6 millimeters thick. That's almost as slim as some foldable phones when unfolded! While details are scarce, most leaks suggest the S25 Slim will follow the design language of the S25 series, with flat edges and rounded corners. This would give it a sleek and modern aesthetic while maintaining a comfortable grip. Samsung might be aiming to cater to users who crave a lightweight and pocketable device without sacrificing flagship features. A slimmer form factor could also enhance one-handed usability.

Screens

It seems like screen sizes for these devices will remain mostly the same with the only rumored change I’ve seen is the base S25 going from 6.2 inches to 6.36 inches, matching the iPhone 16 Pro. We’ve also seen renders of the Ultra phone sporting much more rounded edges to alleviate some hand pain caused by the sharp corners last time.

The S25 and S25 Plus are expected to retain the durable armor aluminum frame with the premium titanium frame will likely remaining exclusive to the S25 Ultra.

The S25 series might use the same M13 OLED displays as the S24, potentially missing out on the brighter M14 panels used in competitors. However, the S25 Ultra could reach 3,000 nits in a special high-brightness mode.

Colors

• S25 and S25 Plus: Expect vibrant options like Moon Night Blue, Silver Shadow, Sparking Blue, and Sparkling Green.

• S25 Ultra: Titanium Black, Titanium Blue, Titanium Gold, and Titanium Silver are rumored for the Ultra, with a Samsung.com exclusive Blue likely.

Snapdragon All The Way

Rumors suggest Samsung is going all-in on Qualcomm's powerful new Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, and that's just the beginning.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite promises significant CPU and GPU gains, potentially outperforming even the iPhone 16 Pro. And the best part might be that unlike the S24 series, all S25 models might feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite exclusively, regardless of region.

Early benchmarks suggest impressive performance for the S25 series, with the Ultra potentially leading the pack. For RAM, the base S25 models might jump to 12GB, enhancing multitasking and AI processing.

There have been rumors of Samsung adding some new gaming features with the S25 as well. We’ve heard about a new game upscaling feature that could boost gaming performance.

Cameras

The S24 Ultra’s camera was a bit disappointing with the 10x zoom being replaced by a 5x that often performed worse that last year’s model. It’s clear Samsung needs to step things up a bit for this year and it does seem like there could be some big improvements.

S25 Ultra:

First off, it does seem like the 200MP primary is returning. The ultrawide camera could get a massive upgrade to a 50MP sensor with an f/1.7 aperture, promising better low-light performance. A new telephoto camera with "variable capabilities" is rumored, potentially offering seamless zoom adjustments or a variable aperture like the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Conflicting reports suggest either a triple or quadruple camera setup for the Ultra, with some leaks pointing to Samsung ditching the 3X zoom sensor. I doubt this one, myself. Leaker Ice Universe stated it’s possible that in addition to the Ultra Wide jumping to 50MP, the 3X zoom could do the same.

S25 and S25 Plus:

For the lower models, things are bit less exciting. Samsung might switch to Sony camera sensors for the S25 and S25 Plus, potentially improving image quality, although it’s been said the specs will be very similar.

S25 Slim:

The Galaxy S25 Slim is rumored to have an "Ultra" camera, possibly including the 200MP main sensor alongside a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP 3.5X telephoto.

Battery

The Samsung Galaxy S25 series is rumored to bring significant battery life improvements, thanks to the power-efficient Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. The new chip promises a 44% improvement in CPU power efficiency and a 40% reduction in GPU power consumption, potentially leading to record-breaking battery life. Rumors suggest the S25 series will retain the same battery capacities as the S24 models, with the Ultra sticking to a 5,000 mAh battery. I’ve also not seen credible rumors about changes to charging speed, which is a bit dissapointing.

The Snapdragon 8 Elite's power could also enable on-device processing for AI features like generative photo editing, eliminating the need for cloud-based processing. While specific details are scarce, Samsung has confirmed that AI will be a major focus for the S25, potentially including a generative AI-powered Bixby assistant. The increased RAM could come in handy here and could result in some features being exclusive to the S25.
