Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is Revealed

The wait is finally over. Samsung has officially taken the wraps off its highly anticipated Galaxy Z TriFold at the APEC 2025 summit in South Korea. This device marks a significant shift in the foldable landscape by introducing a tri-folding form factor that Samsung hopes will help redefine productivity and mobile entertainment.

Revolutionary Design and Display

The Galaxy Z TriFold features an inward-folding design where the two sides fold on top of each other to protect the massive inner screen. When fully unfolded, the device reveals a large 10-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X QXGA+ display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. This main screen boasts a peak brightness of 1,600 nits.

For quick tasks when the device is folded, users have access to a 6.5-inch FHD+ OLED cover screen. This outer display matches the 120Hz refresh rate of the main panel but pumps the brightness up to 2,600 nits. Samsung managed to pack all this technology into a chassis that measures just 3.9mm at its thinnest point and weighs 309g. The engineering team also included IP48 water resistance to ensure durability, matching the Z Fold 7.

Powerhouse Performance

Under the hood, the Galaxy Z TriFold is powered by a customized Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset coupled with 16GB of RAM. Users can choose between 512GB or 1TB of internal storage. To keep the lights on, Samsung equipped the phone with a 5,600mAh three-cell battery which supports 45W fast charging.

The camera system appears to be lifted directly from the Z Fold 7. The rear setup includes a massive 200MP main sensor with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide lens with autofocus and a 10MP telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom. Both the cover and inner displays feature 10MP selfie cameras.

Software and Productivity

Running on Android 16 with One UI 8.0 out of the box, the TriFold is built for multitasking. The 10-inch screen allows users to run three apps side-by-side or use a standalone Samsung DeX mode for a full desktop-like experience without an external monitor. Samsung has committed to providing seven major Android OS updates for this device.

Price and Availability

Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy Z TriFold will launch first in South Korea on December 12, 2025. The starting price is set at KRW 3,590,400 which converts to roughly $2,500. This price point is notably lower than the rumored $3,000 tag.

Following the Korean launch, the device will arrive in China, Taiwan, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates before the end of December. Customers in the United States can expect to get their hands on the TriFold in the first quarter of 2026. While exact US pricing is yet to be confirmed, it is expected to hover around the $2,500 benchmark.

This new addition to the Galaxy Z lineup offers a glimpse into the future of mobile computing. With its massive screen, powerful specs and unique form factor, the Galaxy Z TriFold is poised to be a game-changer for power users everywhere.
