Just How Thin is The Galaxy S25 Slim? Thickness Compared!
Forget "bigger is always better" – this year, Samsung is going "Slim." While we’ve now seen renders of the full S25 device lineup, what we’ve not really seen is how each device stacks up vs one another in terms of size. It’s one thing to see numbers on the screen, but it’s another to see them represented visually. With that as the aim, let’s fine out just how thin the S25 Slim is. Bear in mind, that while the S25 devices are set to be announced on January 22nd of this year, the S25 Slim is not expected to launch at that time. It’s possible we’ll see a tease for the Slim model, but the launch itself isn’t expected until closer to May.
The Alleged Measurements
S25: 146.9 x 70.5 x 7.2 mm
S25+: 158.4 x 75.8 x 7.3 mm
S25 Ultra: 162.8 x 77.6 x 8.2 mm
S25 Slim: 159 x 76 x 6.4 mm
What I’ve done to make this nice and visually easy to understand is head over to Comparesizes.com and plug in all the known measurements. From there, we can look at these devices from any angle we want. Of course, the thickness is what we’re all here to talk about, but instead lets beat around the bush for a while. You can see from this that the S25 Slim will be darn near as large as the S25 Ultra. Sporting a screen that measures somewhere around 6.7” to 6.8” and rumored camera specs of a 200MP HP5 primary, a 50MP JN5 ultra wide and a 50MP 3.5X telephoto, this thing might be the perfect option for S25 Ultra buyers who don’t actually care about the S Pen or 5x optical zoom and instead have a thing for slightly thinner phones.
I guess since I said it, we have to talk about the thickness now. Looking at these things from the side you can see that the Slim is certainly thinner. Something like 2mm thinner to be exact. Now, if that doesn’t seem like a huge difference, that’s probably because it really isn’t. Don’t get me wrong, when places side-by-side, you can certainly see that it’s the thinnest, but this isn’t a device that’s going to blow your mind when it comes to thickness. Leave that to the OnePlus Open 2.
One has to wonder what exactly the point is with this device.. It fits into this sort of awkward place between the Plus and the Ultra, while offering nothing more than that slight reduction in thickness. To make matters worse, there are rumors that Apple’s iPhone 17 Air could be under 6mm… Now that’s a difference that might be worth pursuing.. Did I just praise Apple? I better wrap this up..
Like I said, we won’t have long to wait to see most of these devices, with that 22nd launch right around the corner. We’ve also been seeing lots of reports on new AI features that just might set the S25 apart and potentially even ahead of the competition. I’m sure the Slim will be a solid device, it just might be a device that’s not quite slim enough to justify it’s existence. It’s hard to imagine all four devices continuing after this year.
Maybe It’s Not About the Slim?
While it’s always a bit risky to speculate like this about devices that haven’t even been formally announced, when someone with the reputation of Evan Blass speaks, it’s worth taking a moment to listen. Just today they Tweeted something quite interesting that seems to imply that the Galaxy S25 Slim might not even be marketed as a Slim model, instead it could be simply positioned as a device that sits between the Plus and the Ultra.
