OnePlus Open 15.0.0.822 Update is LIVE with Circle to Search and More
After waiting an additional two months, this update is rolling out in North America, bringing a host of improvements and security enhancements. Among the most notable additions are the "Circle to Search" feature, which allows for intuitive on-screen searches, and a redesigned floating taskbar as we as enhanced integration with Mac devices, enabling direct file downloads from their phones. Despite these welcome features, it is concerning that the included security patch is from May 2025. This means the update is already behind the curve, as the current month is July 2025, leaving users vulnerable to security flaws discovered and patched in the interim.
Apps
You can now see where photos might be accidentally deleted by a third-party app. When this happens you are automatically prompted to recover the photos in "recently deleted."
Security & privacy
You can now protect your recently deleted items, especially your photos (including photographs) and passwords for added privacy.
You can view storage usage by apps and the system. You can also view by going to "phone manager."
During screen sharing, you can block specific app notifications by going to "settings > security & privacy > screen sharing settings."
Communication & interconnection
Adds a new feature that allows you to search for text and download your Mac files directly from your phone's device.
System
Adds the Circle to Search feature so you can search for information directly from your screen. Touch and hold the navigation bar. This navigation bar is on the bottom of the screen. You can also crop pictures you are interested in to get related information.
Optimizes the UI for individual notifications. Notification stacks and user interactions with these notifications have been improved.
The size and position of floating windows are now saved for more convenient usage.
Adds the screen view controller which allows you to drag and drop content between split view and floating windows. You can also resize and drag the content around for flexibility.
Adds a suggestion for you to enter Split view when swiping upward a short distance above or using relevant keyboard shortcuts.
Enhances the animation when opening a new app and toggling from one app to another. This provides a smoother and more seamless experience.
Redesigns the app drawer for a more consistent experience. It is moving smoothly throughout the interface.
Improves system performance when you set an app to open from your phone in the background.
Improves the animations and compatibility for floating windows and split views.
Improves the user interface and icon designs.
Tasks can now have a timing rule allowing for more flexibility. If you enable this rule, you can tap to bring up the control panel, navigate to it, or delete it. This will automatically minimize so you can tap the home button to exit. Additional editable features have been added for style.
Integrates the May 2025 Android security patch to enhance system security.
