Oppo Senior VP Shares First Open 2/Find N5 Image + Launch Month

Okay, I know I just posted a video about the OnePlus Open 2 today, but I have even more news to share! Remember how I talked about that rumor suggesting the OnePlus Open 2 (or Find N5 in China) would be made of titanium and be the thinnest foldable ever? Well, guess what? It's officially confirmed!

Oppo's senior VP just officially announced the Oppo Find N5 would be the "world's thinnest folding flagship" on Weibo, and then said “See you in February,” implying that will be the launch month. While they're technically talking about the Oppo Find N5, we know that the OnePlus Open is basically a rebranded Find N3. Since Oppo skips the number 4 due to Chinese superstitions, the Find N5 is the direct successor to the Find N3. This means we can expect the OnePlus Open 2 to be a near-identical twin and we should expect it to launch right around then as well.

But wait, there's more! The Weibo post also included a photo of the device's side profile, and it's incredibly thin. Seriously, it is thinner than a pencil! The finish appears to be a brushed metal, possibly titanium, which is a departure from the gunmetal finish on the current OnePlus Open.

The image also reveals some other interesting design changes. The edges seem to be more tapered, and the camera bump is nowhere to be seen. Perhaps it's been edited out, or maybe we're looking at the phone upside down. Either way, it's clear that OnePlus has made some significant refinements to the design.

I won't bore you with the specs again (you can see them in the video), but suffice it to say that this device is shaping up to be absolutely incredible. I'm super excited to see what OnePlus has in store for us come February!
