All evidence is pointing towards the Pixel 10 launching much earlier than expected and much earlier than in prior years.

As a long-time enthusiast of Google's Pixel smartphones, dating back to the Pixel 2 XL, I've witnessed a significant evolution in these devices. Having owned a considerable number of Pixels over the years, I've noticed the gradual disappearance of certain software features and design choices that I truly miss. For years, the promise of a true desktop experience powered by Android has lingered, often feeling like a half-forgotten experiment. While Samsung's DeX and Motorola's ReadyFor have offered functional solutions, Google's own efforts to build a robust desktop mode within Android have remained in the realm of developer tools. As part of the April Pixel Drop back on April 7th, Google announced a set of new features for their Gemini Assistant. Normally, when a users triggers Gemini they simply speak to their phone and they receive a written response than can also be played back using Google’s new text-to-speech technology - which does sound very believable.

There’s also Gemini Live though. This option, hidden behind an icon on the bottom right, allows users to begin a very natural conversation with Gemini. You just talk to it like it’s a person. You can even interrupt its response to ask a follow-up question or divert the conversation somewhere else.

A couple of days ago I wrote a piece here going over a recent report from Android Headlines that predicted a series of price changes for the Pixel 10 Series of devices. These rumors are now being cast very much in doubt by some unfortunate facts.

When the renders for the Google Pixel 10 Series of phones first leaked there was one detail that stood out above the rest. The base model Pixel 10 quite clearly featured a periscope telephoto camera which it had never had in the past. That telephoto camera had always been one of the primary ways Google differentiated the base model from the Pro and Pro XL models.

Because of this, there was a ton of speculation. How would Google differentiate the Base from the Pro now? Would the Pixel 10’s telephoto be a downgraded version? If so, how bad will it be? Now, thanks to Android Authority, we seem to have answers to these questions.

Yesterday when we shared renders of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold one important detail was rather auspiciously missing - the dimensions. Today, Android Headlines has quietly updated their article to add that information.

Back on March 12th I wrote an article here that outlined the history of the rumored Pixie Assistant and how it is apparently set to arrive on the Pixel 10 as the new Pixel Sense feature. When that news broke, it seemed a bit strange to me that what we had heard Pixie was going to be good at doing really wasn’t what Pixel Sense was about. Sure, there’s some crossover, but it seems like the aim is entirely different.
