Pixel 10 Pro Fold Dimensions Leak
Yesterday, when we shared renders of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, one important detail was rather conspicuously missing: the dimensions. Today, Android Headlines has quietly updated their article to add that information. According to them, the 10 Pro Fold’s dimensions will be “about” 155.2 x 150.4 x 5.3 mm. This should immediately strike you as strange, as the last-gen model’s dimensions were 155.2 x 150.2 x 5.1 mm. There’s almost a zero percent chance that Google is making their next foldable thicker. To their credit, Android Headlines acknowledges that OnLeaks’ renders are often off by fractions of a millimeter, and because of that, they expect the 10 Pro Fold to be virtually identical to the 9 Pro Fold.
Based on the renders alone, it certainly looks identical to last year’s model, so that’s very possible. One interesting thing to note is that if the overall body is staying the same while the space to the left of the cover display is shrinking, that would mean the cover display is getting a tiny bit wider. If you’re hoping last year’s cases will fit this year’s phone, that might be an issue. The additional speaker on the bottom left of the device might also be covered. Then again, if you’re okay with not using the cover display half of the case, you might be fine.
As folding phones push closer and closer to the limit of just how thin a phone can be, there’s been plenty of conversation about just how thin a phone needs to be. The Oppo Find N5 measures in at just 4.2 mm thick when opened, barely larger than the USB-C port on the device. Even Samsung appears to be set to get in on the super-thin phone action, as the Galaxy Z Fold7 is said to be a surprisingly thin 4.5 mm when opened. Google’s decision to stay put at 5.1 mm will ensure that their foldable remains among the thickest available, putting the question “how thin is thin enough?” to the test. Here’s hoping they at least manage to drop the weight a bit this year.
