Pixel 10 Pro Fold Price to Drop?

One small detail that came along with the revealing of renders for the upcoming Pixel 10 Pro Fold was the possibility of a price drop. In the original article from Android Headlines they said “Other sources have indicated that the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be offered at a lower price point this year.” I guess Android Headlines has been doing some digging on that question because today they’re back with another article that talks about pricing for the Pixel 10 line and beyond.

Summary

  • The smaller Pixel Pro model will remain part of the lineup through at least 2028

  • The a-model Pixel will remain $499 through the Pixel 12a

  • Pixel 10 and 10 Pro models could increase their price by $100

  • The Pixel 10 Pro Fold could be priced around $1600

  • The goal is a $1500 Pixel Fold by 2028

If true, we could be looking at a $499 Pixel 9a, $899 Pixel 10, $1099 Pixel 10 Pro and $1199 Pixel 10 Pro XL with a $1599 Pixel 10 Pro Fold to cap it off. Before we dig into the impacts this would have, it’s important to remember that this is a rumor until confirmed. While it’s not hard for me to believe Google might once again raise their prices on some models, the decrease for the Fold is hard to buy, especially given the current tariff situation.

For some context, the S25 was $799, the S25 Plus was $999 and the Ultra was $1299. This would have google a step above in pricing on two models and still slightly under on the main flagship. It would also serve to widen the gap between the Pixel 10 and the a-series device below it. Something that already doesn’t make a ton of sense given how similar those devices are.

If we assume the Pixel Fold really is dropping to $1600, that would be a massive advantage. It’s rumored that the Z Fold7 is going to be taking a pretty major step up in terms of hardware. It’ll be larger, thinner, lighter, new SOC, bigger vapor chamber and a new 200MP primary camera. It’ll also be $1899. If the Pixel Fold is something like $300 cheaper… That’ll make the lack of hardware changes and the switch to a smaller main camera sensor a whole lot easier to swallow.

Rumored Specs

  • 50MP Samsung GN8 1/1.95” Primary

  • 12MP Samsung 3J1 1/3.2” Ultrawide

  • 12MP Samsung 3J1 1/3.2” Telephoto

  • 11MP Samsung 3K1 1/3,94” Inner Selfie

  • 11MP Samsung 3K1 1/3,94” Outer Selfie

  • Tensor G5

  • 16GB RAM

  • Likely identical dimensions as last year, 5.1mm thick

Seeing some of these prices go up is not super shocking to me. Seeing the Pixel Fold price go down amid all of the tariffs that are going on, that's just difficult for me to believe. So, I'm just going to throw this out here right now, before we go on any further, my gut tells me that this just is not going to wind up being true. Maybe I'm wrong, Android Headlines has broken news quite a few times over the years and maybe they have a great source and I'm just going to be wrong myself, but this is very hard for me to believe.

Great big pinch of salt on this one.
