The Moto Razr Fold Preorder is LIVE!

It finally happened. The Moto Razor Fold pre-order is officially live in the United States, and after a bit of a false start with my previous video, I'm back to break down what you actually need to know about the launch. It is a massive release, but there are a few things to consider before you drop your hard-earned cash.

The price tag is sitting at $18.99. When you add in tax, you are looking at a total of over $2,000. I was really hoping we might see a lower introductory price or a beefier bundle to soften the blow. In the UK, buyers are getting a watch and earbuds, which makes our US bundle feel a bit slim. Here, we are getting the Moto Pen Ultra included. It is a $100 value, and while it is a nice addition, it is the only extra you are getting for that $18.99 price point.

However, once you look at the currency exchange rates, the US price actually aligns pretty closely with what they are paying across the pond once you account for those extra gadgets. It is still a lot of money, but it is not quite the "rip off" it seemed like at first glance.

The Specs and Hardware

If you are looking for a reason to justify the cost, the hardware is where this phone shines. It comes with 512GB of storage right out of the box, which beats the 256GB starting point we see from most other brands. You have two color options to pick from. There is the Pantone Lily White for a clean, classic look, and the Blackened Blue which has a textured finish. I went with the blue version for my personal collection because that extra grip is going to be helpful since I do not plan on using a case.

The internals are where things get interesting, especially compared to the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8. The Razor Fold is packing a 6,000 mAh battery and 80W wired charging, which should keep you powered up much better than the competition. The camera system is also looking like a winner with a massive primary sensor that might be the largest on any foldable right now, plus a very solid zoom setup.

Trade-ins and Shipping

If $1,900 feels like too much, definitely look at the trade-in options. If you are trading in something like a Z Fold 6, you could see the price drop to around $1,052. The delivery date is currently looking like May 24. Once my unit arrives, I will be doing a full unboxing, first impressions, and a deep dive into tips and tricks.
