Ladies and gentlemen, at long last, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE are official and we have several elephants in the room with us that we need to acknowledge. I think almost to a historic degree, the rumor cycle around the Z Fold 7 was fraught with misinformation. I don't want to say disinformation because I feel like disinformation implies intent to deceive, and that's not what we had here as far as I can tell. But we did get a lot of things wrong, and I got some things wrong. So, we’re going to do in this article is go over some of the details that the rumor mill got wrong in name of accountability.

The pricing narrative for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 has been a rollercoaster, largely due to the varying reliability of the sources of the leaks and the lack of filtering by the large blogs signal boosting literally everything for clicks. There has been a lot of debate in the comment section about whether or not the Fold 7 have an S Pen and a lot of this seems to come from the fact that the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition removed the S Pen digitizer chasing a thinner form factor. That's the thing that actually allows the pen to function, in order to make the device even thinner. Because of that, the Z Fold Special Edition did not have compatibility with the S Pen.

Tech channel The Sinza has just posted perhaps our best look at the unannounced Galaxy Z Fold 7 in the form of a dummy unit. While it’s important to note than a dummy unit like this is likely to have some small differences from the real thing, the dimensions are apparently pretty spot on.

When it comes to the form factor of a phone, everyone is going to have their own preferences for things like height, width, thickness, and weight. We're all going to have our own preferences, and each of these things are going to be weighted differently depending on what it is you actually do prefer. For me, when it comes to these folding phones, all I really wanted was to get to the point where we are about as thick as a standard phone when closed, and maybe just as importantly, where we weigh what a normal phone weighs.

As exciting as the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is, anytime I talk about it my comment section is immediately flooded with lamentations over the size and charging speed of the battery. We now exist in a world where devices that are close to 4mm thick have batteries in the range of 6,000mAh which also happen to charge at speeds bordering on incomprehensible.
